This coffee-flavored sponge cake is perfect for a leisurely afternoon with friends and family. Unlike chocolate or strawberry, this cake is sure to delight coffee lovers.
For the dough:
- 3 separate eggs
- 3 tablespoons water
- 150 g of sugar
- 50 g of flour
- 50 g corn starch
- 1 tsp of instant instant coffee
- 1 ½ coated teaspoon baking powder
For the cream:
- 200 g cream
- 1 ½ sheets of gelatine
- 1 ½ powdered sugar
- 1 coated TL soluble instant coffee
First, beat the egg whites of two eggs with cold water until stiff. Then pour in the sugar piece by piece and then add the yolk. Finally add flour, cornflour, baking powder and the soluble instant coffee. Spread the dough on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and bake in a preheated oven at 185 ° C for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, you drop the baked mass on a cloth and carefully remove the baking paper. Roll the dough together with the cloth into a roll and let it cool.
To prepare the cream, first beat the cream stiff and mix the sugar underneath. Then you submerge the gelatin in cold water and then pushes it out well. Dissolve the instant coffee in some hot water and then mix it with the gelatin. After a short cool, mix the mixture with the stiff whipped cream.
After the roll is completely cooled, gently roll it out and remove the cloth. Brush the dough with the cream and then roll the dough together again.
If you like, you can still cover the roll with powdered sugar, glaze or sprinkle with jam.
